Do you know that Infocom is
Uganda's leading Internet Provider?

WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a technology that lets you access basic information on the internet and read, write and manage your emails from your mobile phone with Infocom PhoneMail.
It can be useful because if you are out and about, you can still keep up-to-date with your e-mail via Infocom PhoneMail, browse the latest news, sport, event guides and more.
1. Check you have a WAP enabled phone
If you got a new mobile in the last year or two, it is very likely that it can be used to receive WAP services. Popular models that support WAP include: Samsung SGH-A300 and Nokia 3330, 5510, 6210, 8310 and 7110. If you are unsure whether your phone is capable of receiving WAP services you will need to ask your service provider or check the manufacturer websites.
2. Check you have a data-enabled SIM
To allow your phone to access WAP services, the SIM card in it must be data enabled.
You may need to check this with your phone network operator
(Celtel/MTN/UTL)
3. If you have a Nokia, SonyEricsson or Samsung phone, click here to have Infocom WAP settings sent to your phone.
4. If your phone is not one of the above models, please contact Infocom customer care department for help in configuring the WAP service.
The way to start using WAP depends on the user's phone:
1. Find the WAP menu in the phone. This menu may be called services, applications, browser or possibly internet.
2. Once in the menu, select either Home or start browser (or similar)
3. To select a link, scroll until it is highlighted, then press either OK or the green telephone button on the phone.
4. When finished using WAP, you can end by either pressing the end call button a couple of times, or by selecting quit browser (or similar) from the phone menu.
